MONRAIL S.R.L. was set up in 2003, combining the expertise of people with proven experience in the field of design and construction.
It operates all over the country and internationally, with its own staff and technology derived from long-standing experience in Switzerland. It also avails itself of the experience of the National Research Council (Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche (CNR)) to design and verify all its products.

In 2003-2004 Monrail, in collaboration with the Valle d’Aosta Regional Administration for the first time in Italy built a monorail system high in the mountains with930 metres expansion and a 350 metre drop.
The Valle d’Aosta region was awarded a “2005 green flag” from Legambiente for this system.
Monrail stands up
for the environment.
In 2010 Monrail srl designed and installed the first electrical traction motor powered by a lithium battery. This was a true world revolution in the monorail rack transport sector.
This innovative system works free of electrical lines to supply control and power devices with all the advantages this involves. Batteries can be charged by simple connection or automatically when the transport system reaches the charging station.

In 2013 Monrail installed for CMC-IMPREGLIO in South Africa a dual rack ascent system with a total length of 1,800 metres to transport workers and materials in one of the biggest hydroelectric plants in the world.
In Italy Monrail has worked on the Almafi coast, on various protected areas in parks in southern Italy, in Cinque Terre National Park, in various locations in Tuscany, Elba island, for archaeological sites and on various lakes in northern Italy for private residences but also for summer camps, vineyards or alpine pastures.
On the Cote d’Azur our transport systems are mostly used for private residences.
In Switzerland they are used both for vineyards and for private residences. For this reason, in 2015 Monrail srl obtained federal certification from the Grigioni canton for enabling the transportation of passengers as well as goods.
